What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that removes excess skin from around the vulva. In some women, the inner or outer labia are long and protruding, causing difficulties during certain activities or even self-consciousness during intimate situations. By removing stretched or excess skin, Dr. Roussel can reduce uncomfortable symptoms and change the appearance of the vulva.

Labiaplasty Procedure Steps
Labiaplasty is typically performed using general anesthesia, but other options are available. Dr. Roussel will help you select the most appropriate option as well as the right incision pattern for your goals. One incision option includes simply trimming away the skin from the labia along the natural outer edge. Another option includes removing a wedge-shaped piece of tissue and suturing the remaining sides together. Once the procedure is complete and the incisions are closed with special sutures, you’ll be sent home.
